Letter from the CEO

KaleidaCare is entering into an exciting time. There is new energy for growth in the company, and I hope to bring the benefit of extensive experience in providing technology solutions to social services agencies. Overall, we are planning to reorganize the company for growth around two main principles: 1. A focus on deeper partnerships with our existing customers and organizations that serve our core market of youth and family services and 2., Allocating resources to product development for new Solutions capabilities. To help achieve that goal, I plan to increase the number of account managers and add significantly to the resources directed at new product development. Along with increasing the number of resources, we will be giving greater levels of authority to account managers to address issues for their customers. From there, we will measure our progress and share the results with you.

Another change is renewed efforts concentrated on making our customers successful. Our marketing should be built off an ability to point to a community of customers who derive great value from their relationship with KaleidaCare, and to a community of customers who can show an ability to deliver improved care with less administrative effort. I want to earn our reputation one customer at a time. A reputation for being a team of people with a deep understanding of our customers' challenges, the solutions to solve those challenges, and the desire and responsiveness to make those solutions successful. I am proud to represent the team here at KaleidaCare. They have a heart for serving our customers, and I have watched them work with great enthusiasm and diligence to serve customers more effectively.

Please let me know directly how we can help you be successful.

  Alistair Deakin,

President & CEO

User Group Summary

Georgia User Group Holds Organizational Meeting

KaleidaCare users and prospective users from across Georgia met on September 6th to hold their first meeting for the new Georgia User Group. The group will meet on a regular basis to discuss KaleidaCare Best Practices in Georgia, emphasizing training, with an in-depth focus on how to meet state reporting requirements.

Heather Rowles who is the Executive Director of the Multi-Agency Alliance for Children (MAAC) organized the Georgia User Group. This user group allowed several agencies to collaborate on how they use the system and share information on how it works within different agencies. Chip Bolyard, Laura Benedetti, and Trish Murphy were on hand to provide a Revenue Maximization Module Demonstration and to discuss recent system enhancements.

For more information about the Georgia User Group Meeting, please contact Heather Rowles at (404) 880-9323 or hrowles@maac4kids.org. For more information about starting a user group in your state, please contact Chip Bolyard at 512-219-8025 ext. 228 or cbolyard@kaleidacare.com.

New Additions to KaleidaCare Team

Well, it has been an exciting time here at KaleidaCare and we are ending the year with a few new faces. We would like to announce three new additions to our team, each bringing invaluable experience, education and expertise to KaleidaCare.

Jenna Foppiani- Director of National Accounts

Jenna Foppiani joined the KaleidaCare team at the beginning of September as the Director of National Accounts. Prior to joining KaleidaCare, Jenna earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Child Development from Vanderbilt University. During her undergraduate studies, Jenna aided in several research projects at the Psychology and Human Development Department at Vanderbilt's Peabody College. These projects entailed determining how children cope with the stress of parental depression and measuring adolescents' coping and responses to stress.

Following graduation Jenna moved to Austin and worked as a Probation Officer in the Deferred Prosecution Unit for Travis County Juvenile Probation. This experience inspired Jenna to work more directly with children as a social worker. She began by working with Hospice, offering support to grieving children. She then took an opportunity to work for Communities In Schools, Inc. a school-based agency in Austin, Texas, as an elementary school counselor/caseworker, giving her an excellent foundation to further her education.

In May 2006, Jenna graduated from the University of Texas's School of Social Work with a Master of Science in Social Work. Jenna is excited about the opportunity to join the KaleidaCare team and she is very eager to meet our current customers and learn more about their agencies. She aspires to aid customers in order to help them secure their funding and enhance the support they offer children and families.

Trish Murphy- Senior Account Manager

Trish Murphy has been a behind-the-scenes part-time member of the KaleidaCare team for the past six months and we are more than pleased to officially welcome her onboard as a full-time member of our team. Trish brings years of experience and a very unique perspective to KaleidaCare as a previous System Administrator for one of our customers, Creative Community Services. She was also the Continuous Quality Improvement Director and a Clinical Supervisor for Creative Community Services for two years. She has a total combined eighteen years of experience working with children and families in foster care, residential and community settings bringing a wealth of experience to KaleidaCare.

Trish holds a Master of Social Work from Boston University and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Springfield College. With her combined education and experience, Trish brings an immense amount of knowledge to the KaleidaCare team and we are happy to have her join us full-time.

Alistair Deakin- President & CEO

Alistair Deakin joins us as CEO and President. Most recently, Alistair served as President and CEO of CMHC Systems, Inc. CMHC Systems provided enterprise software to over 400 social services agencies that provided behavioral healthcare services across 48 states. In his capacity as CEO, Alistair lead a business plan focused on customer satisfaction and effective account management. Alistair enjoyed unanimous support from his board of directors for improving relationships with customers and financial performance. CMHC systems merged with Creative Socio-Medics to form Netsmart Technologies in October 2005. Prior to CMHC Systems, Alistair worked as CEO of Earley Corporation, a clinical software company serving substance abuse treatment centers. He has worked in a series of leadership capacities with technology companies, and as an investment banker for major financial institutions. He started his career as a lawyer for Legal Services in Atlanta, and holds a JD degree from Emory University and a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

A Special Thank You

Thank you to everyone who participated in the "KaleidaCare's" survey. As you know, it is an exciting time at KaleidaCare and there are quite a few changes going on. We decided it would be a great time to get to know our customers on a more personal level and our survey was the perfect first step. We had a high response rate and gathered some very helpful information from you. We are already using this information to make KaleidaCare Solutions the software experience you want. If you have any additional feedback for us, we would love to hear it. We appreciate your input and value your insights into how we can improve our system to help you work more effectively. We look forward to continuing to be your software solution.
